Multistate Outbreak of Drug-Resistant Salmonella Enteritidis Infections Linked to Raw, Frozen, Stuffed Chicken Entrees Produced by Barber Foods

There's been a outbreak of salmonella in raw, frozen, stuffed chicken. I am worried about this because so far theirs been nine people who infected. And the treatment from the hospital did not seem to work. No death has been announce yet, though infected people are still being treated. This worried me because what if there more than the nine chicken being sold, has salmonella.

The Ebola virus disease, also known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever, is a recent disease that first had an outbreak in remote villages in Central Africa. It is a fatal virus that was first transmitted to humans through animal contact, mainly bats. Now it is spread from people to people through human contact. Currently there is no licensed treatment for it, but there are two possible vaccines undergoing evaluation. The only methods for preventing the virus from spreading is by avoiding contact with those infected with it and by safe burials. 

Lyme Disease

Lyme Disease is a disease that concerns me very much. While reading this article, I thought about the trail. Lyme Disease is commonly transmitted by deer ticks, found in woods. Hikers and campers, are common victims for this disease. It take a tick twenty-four hours to transmit Lyme Disease onto its host. Symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migraines. The scariest part about this disease, if it is left untreated, the infection could spread onto joints, the heart, and even the nervous system; even death can be caused by Lyme disease.  Going on the trail, I had to constantly watch out for ticks because they are so small, and very easy to miss. My fear of them kept me safe becasue I took precautions so that I would not contract the disease.

Equine Diseases

The article that I read list a number of equine diseases or diseases that affect horses. I know that I don't stop to think that other living organisms can get sick or diseases. One of the diseases that I found the most interesting was Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis. It causes an infection in the lower limbs and chronic abscesses(recurring pockets of pus)  in the upper chest and stomach area. Just reading this article makes me feel really sad for the horses out there who have it. I'm actually kind of grateful this can only happen to horses and cattle.

   Am really concern about Ebola because Ebola is one of the deadliest diseases/virus in the United State.  Ebola is not a airborne disease, its a type of disease that can be spread through direct contact with blood and body fluids of a person already showing symptoms of Ebola. Ebola is a rare and deadly caused by infection with a strain of Ebola virus. The 2014 Ebola epidemic is the largest in history , affecting multiple countries in West Africa. The risk of an Ebola outbreak affecting people in the U.S. is very low.

My Ebola reaction

I was so scared to hear about the Ebola virus especially when it came to America. So many people died in Africa from this disease. This shows how deadly this virus is. Symptoms include fever, intense pain, muscle weakness, diarrhea, vomiting, liver and kidney problems, and sometimes internal bleeding. This was really when it broke out not too long ago. When it came to America it showed that deadly diseases can come to America.

The disease was first was first detected in 1952 in Africa following an outbreak on the Makonde Plateau. This is a border area between Mozambique and Tanzania. The virus was isolated from the serum of a febrile patient from this area.

This summer it was in Bolivia and many people got sick and some of them died but this disease spread out from south america to Europe (Spain) and right it's and Spain.

These groupings include hypertension with or without renal diseases, stroke, atherosclerosis, other diseases of arteries, arterioles, and, capillaries and diseases of veins and lymphatics. The future will also see the identification of more new potential molecular targets for Cardiovascular diseases.    

Post Ebola Disease

     In Africa more than twenty five percent of the people that survived the recent ebola outbreak are reporting new problems. These survivors are now dealing with a new threat that can cause blindness, and extreme joint pain. Reading this article made me come to realize that maybe not all vaccines, "cures" do what they are supposed to. Coming to realize that some of these people now have new problems with their bodies a new question arises, CAN IT BE FIXED? Many scientists are already in Africa now gathering new samples to see if anything can be done for these people.

Scary Disease - Cyclosporiasis

               A new recent outbreak of a disease named Cyclosporiasis has so far not been deadly but scary. About 457 people have been confirmed with Cyclospora most of the people are from Texas. Symptoms like gas, cramping, bloating, and even watery diarrhea can be caused by Cyclospora. Its said that Cyclospora can come from foods shipped from different countries one of the main countries is Mexico. I am lucky I didn't catch Cyclospora during my recent trip there, because I don't think I would have enjoyed my vacation so much. Cyclospora is a disease one should watch out for.    

Measles disease

As of  January 1st, people have been reported with measles. Measles is a common infectious disease that causes a fever and a red rash on the human body. Measles outbreaks have been happening in 27 states in the U.S.A. with 667 cases of people having the disease. I am concerned about this outbreak because since many people have this disease, it is possible that it could spread to states in the north-east such as New Jersey. There is no treatment for the measles disease but fever reducers can help with symptoms. Symptoms include severe coughing, fever, loss of appetite,sneezing, and red spots,

Alzheimer's Disease

There was this one man who no one had faith in on living very long .Doug Whitney should have died years ago.Alzheimer’s disease, which is a disease  where one loses brain function.It could memory,thinking and behavior. This guy had to have a very hard life he couldn't understand what was going on around him. But he had faith in his self and he  survived the disease that everyone in the family die from. IT a very remarkable story.

Tuberculosis is a disease that truly concerns me because it is airborne. Meaning that I could get it from anyone, anywhere, at any given time. It is a contagious disease in which bacteria can spread through bloodstreams and infect any organ in your body, especially the lungs. The treatment for Tuberculosis requires drugs over a six- to nine-month period. It will not get rid of the infection, however, if the body starts to weaken, then the infection will start to spread more sufficiently.

At this point in the last flu season, not a single case of the virus had beenCONFIRMED by the Loyola University Health System.

This season hasn't been nearly as kind. As of Friday, 220 people suffering from the flu have been treated at Loyola, which is not alone among Chicago-area hospitals in experiencing a rush of runny noses and hacking coughs. Officials say the flu season is off to its earliest and mostACTIVE start in nearly a decade.

Well as i was reading this article, i know that  many people wear affected by flu disease 

which sadly has affected many peoples life i remember in the winter i cough alot i had a runny nose and sneeze a lot i didnt feel like eating eating i would sleep through the day which is not normal for me i never sleep through the day, for reason i would feel tired which would cause for me to sleep regularly, Having breathing problems also it was the worst.

Cyclospora

As of May ninth two thousand and fifteen, there has been an outbreak of bad produce being sent to three major cities in Canada including Alberta, Quebec, and Ontario. It is said that the produce that is being sold is infected with “Cyclospora” which attacks the immune system and if not treated starts slowly disabling organs in the human body. The produce that is infected is herbs and vegetables like basil, mesclun, snow peas, lettuce, cilantro, and salad mix. People with unhealthy or not strong immune systems are especially in danger, when it comes to “Cyclospora”. The symptoms of this disease are loss of appetite, diarrhea, and stomach cramps. People should now wash their vegetables and fresh produce for a longer time and watch out for a weird pattern of spots. Currently this disease has not reached the United States, but since Canada is so close to the United States, it is a possibility.

I'm worried about Legionnaire's disease

The recent outbreak of Legionnaire's disease in NYC worries me.  This used to only occur aboard dirty cruise ships with unclean ventilation.  Now, the disease is being found in housing buildings in the Bronx.  I wonder how long it has been since we have cleaned our air conditioning units in the building where I live.  I can only imagine, with horror, what could happen if there was Legionnella bacteria in our air conditioning.
